Yves De Larivière is the CEO of Antwerp Euroterminal, the largest multipurpose terminal in Europe. As a CEO he intuitively knew people are key to the success of his business. “When I say people, I mean people in the broadest sense,” explains Yves. “As a CEO I always try to support our collaborators, our clients, and various other stakeholders of our business. An example. We are frontrunner to offer green shore power, so that ships don’t have to use their diesel generators while in the docks. That avoids emissions and noise. Success for me is not about making more money. It’s about finding the balance with a broad spectrum of stakeholders. And you know what? As a result of this intention, our team managed to be an example, both within the port community as within our group, when it comes to sustainable initiatives.”
Why ImpactBuilders
“I made a long walk with founder Jan Lagast and discovered that we are on the same page,” remembers Yves. “What Jan brings to businesses from his experience and with his theoretic background, that is exactly what I intuitively did over the past years in my company. It was evident for me to join ImpactBuilders as an ImpactEntusiast and an ImpactAmbassador, because this is the environment that really makes me feel supported and appreciated.”
