Where European diplomats meet up with Baltic business leaders
At the First Tuesday event in Tallinn on 2 December, one of the focus meetings is dedicated to internationalisation. The meeting brings together diplomats from several European countries, leaders from the building sector, and representatives of Estonian government bodies to exchange practical insights on how companies can grow beyond their home markets. Although the focus industry is on construction, building, materials & recycling, various sectors will be present to get inspired about expanding their business to the West of Europe.
Internationalisation opportunities in the West and South of Europe

The session is moderated by former UK diplomat Alistair Starling and centres on a clear purpose: helping Estonian and Baltic companies understand the potential of Western and Southern European markets. Diplomats from various European countries already confirmed their presence. Each of them will share a short introduction on what their country can offer specifically to the construction, building, materials, and recycling sectors, as well as to various other Baltic businesses.
These short contributions are designed to give practical direction. Participants hear directly from the people who represent their country and their markets. And, they can bring their case in a focused meeting attended by like-minded top people.
Diplomats meeting diplomats
The room also serves as a meeting place for European diplomats themselves. First Tuesday not only brings them in front with several business leaders who might be interested in their country. It is also a great place to meet the colleagues from other European countries, and government bodies in the field of business internationalisation.
